Almost on a whim we decided to take a trip up to the Yorkshire Dales, just wing it and find accommodation ‘somewhere’. Nearly 9 O’clock everywhere booked, one last chance before heading home. ‘Kexgill House’ Bedale. I knocked, Marcia came to the door. “Hello, I don’t really like to take anyone this late, but come in”
It was the start of a wonderful friendship that lasted nearly 30 years. Back to the Dales as much as time allowed. We were even trusted with ‘Welly’ when on one of her visits to NZ. Later, we too, moved to NZ and when visiting the UK a priority was always a catch up with Marcia. We will miss the correspondence Marcia, cards, texts, visits and phone calls. We were very lucky and privileged to meet you that evening in Bedale.

So many fond memories of Marcia. She was such an integral part of our lives from a young and tender age. I will always remeber her deeply caring, loving and welcoming nature. Our most recent visit to Yorkshire with dad, Anastasia and Emma in October 2018 is still etched in our memories and the girls still speak of Aunty Marcia despite only really getting to know her in those few short days in her company. That says so much of the impact she created on those who were fortunate enough to meet her. I love you dearly Marcia and will forever hold you close in my heart. Rest in Peace ♥️

Marcia was a wonderfully kind, strong woman. I'll always remember her smile, her caring nature and her dedication to her family. I feel privileged to have known her and been part of her family. I'll keep her memory in my heart forever
